1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern the provision of mobile car mechanic services by the mechanic AB Automotive to the customer.
2. Booking
The Customer must book the mobile car mechanic service in advance by calling or messaging the Service Provider. The Service Provider will confirm the booking and provide an estimated time of arrival.
3. Payment
The Customer must pay for the mobile car mechanic services at the time of service delivery. Payment may be made by cash or credit/debit card. A deposit must be paid for payment of parts and labour where the service provider deems necessary.
Labour is charged at £70 per hour + VAT.
A call-out / attendance fee of £30+ VAT applies to jobs under 2 hours of labour. This fee is waived on jobs of 2 hours or more.
4. Cancellation
The Customer may cancel or reschedule the mobile car mechanic service up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment without incurring any charges. If the Customer cancels or reschedules within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, the Service Provider may charge a cancellation fee.
5. Liability
The Service Provider will exercise reasonable care and skill when providing mobile car mechanic services. However, the Service Provider will not be liable for any loss, damage or parts to the Customer’s vehicle or property arising from or in connection with the provision of mobile car mechanic services.
6. Warranty
The Service Provider provides a 12 months parts warranty. If any defects are discovered during this period, the Service Provider will repair or replace the parts or labor at no additional cost to the Customer.
No warranty is provided on customer-supplied parts — only on the workmanship of fitting those parts.
7. Insurance
The Service Provider has public liability insurance to cover any damage or injury caused by the Service Provider while providing mobile car mechanic services. However, the Customer is responsible for ensuring that their vehicle is fully insured and for any excess payable in the event of a claim.
8. Customer’s Obligations
The Customer must provide the Service Provider with full and accurate information about their vehicle and the nature of the problem to be fixed. The Customer must also ensure that the Service Provider has safe and easy access to the vehicle.
9. Customer-Supplied Parts
The Service Provider is willing to fit parts supplied by the Customer. A fitting/admin fee of £60 + VAT will apply in addition to the normal labour rate. The Service Provider only guarantees workmanship and accepts no responsibility for the quality, suitability or performance of customer-supplied parts.
If the Customer-supplied parts are found to be incorrect, incomplete, damaged or unsuitable after work has commenced (including after the vehicle has been partially or fully dismantled), the Customer will still be charged for:
- All labour time already spent at the normal hourly rate of £70 + VAT
- The £60 + VAT fitting/admin fee
- Any additional labour required to reassemble the vehicle or rectify the situation
The Service Provider reserves the right to refuse to fit parts that appear unsuitable or of poor quality.
10. Force Majeure
The Service Provider will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform their obligations under these terms and conditions if the delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to, acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, industrial action, or natural disasters.
11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the mobile car mechanic services are provided.
12. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions represent the entire agreement between the Service Provider and the Customer and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and representations, whether written or oral.
13. Amendments
The Service Provider reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time by giving notice to the Customer. Any such amendments will be effective immediately upon notice being given.
